Mrs Foster's News

Updates and news from Mrs Foster!

11 February 2016

It’s been a really busy half term in school and I can see everyone is ready for the half term! I, as always, look forward in anticipation to Valentine’s Day. Mr Foster’s usual remark is “It’s Valentine’s Day every day in our house, babe”. Hmmm, not so sure about that ‘babe’. I will keep you posted…

Some updates and a bit of news:

The choir sang at The Guild Hall on Tuesday night as part of our cluster of primary school’s Celebration of Friendship. It was an amazing night, showcasing talents from all our local schools and Whitefield were amazing. We even had a 3 course meal at Tiggis for tea! Thank you to Miss McNaughton for creating such a brilliant choir, and to the staff and parents who came to help and to support our school. Check out the pictures on Facebook – search for Whitefield Primary Official.

Last night we had our Friends of Whitefield disco. I cannot express enough how thankful I am to have such a wonderful team of volunteers who organise these events for our children. You are all amazing and did a great job last night. Thanks to Tasha too for spinning the tunes!

Paula, our cook, has asked me to pass on this message. Lancashire Catering are looking for casual workers who can help out in school kitchens (not the Whitefield kitchen, it could be anywhere in Lancashire). If you are interested, please call Sharon on 07717801683 or Wendy on 07854184219.

Some great news about one of our children – Aimee Campy will be performing in a production of Giselle with the English Youth Ballet at the Guild Hall on Friday 4th March and Saturday 5th March. Congratulations Aimee! What an achievement!

It was Internet Safety Day on Tuesday and the children have been doing activities in school to raise awareness of the need to be safe on the internet. Mr Jackson has posted some links on the Facebook page to support this learning at home.

Enjoy your half term next week. Mr Foster is working most of the week and to my delight, there is a new Alvin and the Chipmunks movie out at the cinema. Yeah!

I will see you all on Monday 22nd February.
