Image of Mrs Foster's News

I am writing this news at home, it is Wednesday evening and the wind is howling through every tiny gap in our house.  Mr F is currently outside with the neighbours having located Milly's trampoline two gardens down stopping it's journey as it smashed through a couple of sheds and all the fence panels.

We are also sporting a rather lovely water feature running down the back bedroom window...but as we both said last night, we know from the news coverage that things are so much worse in other areas of the country.

There has been some fantastic work going on in school in the last couple of weeks.  Thank you to everyone who came to our SEAL assemblies - it was a great turnout and the children did fantastic jobs!

There has been some really interesting work going on in school this week as we look at making the internet a safer place as part of the international Internet Safety Day.  We will post photos and information as soon as we can on the website. Coming home today via email is a checklist for parents with reminders for if your child uses the internet and any social networking sites (you can also find it on the website).

Year 5 were getting in to the Winter Olympic spirit yesterday as they practised their kurling skills.  They were so competitive!  And looked to be really enjoying it!

Some other important things to note before we finish for half term:

We have the Police and Crime Commissioner coming in to school on Tuesday 4th March at 3.30pm.  He will be holding a question and answer session for local residents and this would be a great opportunity for us to put forward our concerns regarding the traffic and parking around our local community.  The session has been organised by Penwortham Town Councillor Joan Burrows.  If you can not make the date, but would like us to raise a question on your behalf, please get in touch.

A letter will be coming via email today regarding the proposed teacher strike action on Wednesday 26th March.  Please ensure this date is in your diary as if the strike does go ahead, school will be closed.

It is the FoW DISCO tonight!  So if you fancy a boogie come and join us!  Reception, Year 1 and 2 at 6.30-7.15 and Y3-6 at 7.30-8.15.

We still have some places available at the Friends of Whitefield May Ball (Friday 16th May) - information is available on the website.

I hope that the weather inproves for us all this half term.  We have a number of plans to celebrate Milly's 7th birthday and am looking forward to a couple of movie nights and catching up on the Winter Olympics.  Have a lovely half term everyone.  For now though, I await the postman on Friday morning.....
