PE Premium

2016/17

In 2016/17, we received just over £9525  in sports premium money from the government.

This year we have spent a large amount of the funding on a extracurricular enrichment activities through South Ribble Sports Partnership where every year group in school was able to access sport training from an experienced and qualified sports leader.

This include specialist coaching in:

  • tag rugby
  • bikeability
  • tennis
  • gymanstics
  • dance
  • balance bike programme for Reception children
  • Cricket

Alongside this in school curriculum development programme, our subject leader and other members of staff have attended training on various aspects of the Lancashire PE curriculum, engaging all children in sport activities and subject leader development. The sports funding money supported the subject leader in delivering this information to the whole school team.

We have also used the money to be part of the competitive sporting programme run by South Ribble Sports Partnership.

This year we achieved the Silver Lancashire School Games Mark Award.

2015/16

In 2015/16, we received just over £12 000  in sports premium money from the government.

This include specialist coaching in:

Class teachers are working alongside different coaches to the previous year. This is allowing them to learn new skills during the sessions so that they are equipped to teach the unit the following year.

Alongside this in school curriculum development programme, our subject leader attended training on assessment using the Lancashire PE curriculum, engaging all children in sport activities and subject leader development. The sports funding money supported the subject leader in delivering this information to the whole school team.

We have also used the money to be part of the competitive sporting programme run by South Ribble Sports Partnership.

We are currently in the process of applying for the Lancashire School Games Mark Award.
