12 March 2014
As you will no doubt have noticed, it’s Ms Clough’s News this time. I hope you’ve all been enjoying the Spring weather, I was actually able to sit in my garden for the first time last weekend without having to wear several jumpers and a scarf ! I really hope it continues as we’re looking forward to being able to get out on our bikes with the camping gear.
Huge congratulations to our Y5 mathematicians. Four Y5 children, Olivia Simm, Michael Stringer, George Rotheram and Amy Norcross, went to PGHS to take part in the Maths 24 challenge and returned victorious. We are very proud of them for doing so well .Click here to see more.
More congratulations goes to our Foundation Stage Team as we have been awarded Lancashire's Step into Quality Standard. They have worked extremely hard over the last 12 months to improve our already fantastic provision in our reception classes. Click here to read more.
Work on the Enchanted Garden is due to start on Monday 24th March. The canopy will arrive and be constructed first followed by the fence, pathways, new storage and all the other bits and bobs. We’re all very excited and can’t wait to see the finished result. If you haven’t already seen the designs click here.
It’s Sport Relief on Friday 21st March and we will be having a ‘wear what you want’ day with a sports theme. As usual the children can bring a donation of £1.00 to wear their own clothes with all proceeds going to Sport Relief. Also, lessons that day will have a distinctly ‘sporty’ theme and children will get chance to talk about their sporting heroes and what it takes to be a great sportsperson.
Finally, just a quick reminder to get your thinking caps on about ideas for the Gala. Please note the change of date for the first meeting – it’s still at 9am but is now on Thursday 27th March.
