It's been an emotional couple of weeks in school as we have seen how our reception children have changed in the last nine months and then had our year 6 leavers performance on Tuesday evening which was full of laughter and tears.
I cannot express to you all my thanks for your support over the last year but in particular in the last six weeks. We are still struggling with our grief at losing our Sadie yet we are kept strong throughout it by all of you and by our amazing and resilient children who have made us laugh, cry and sometimes scream!
We have had a number of thoughts as to how we remember Sadie in our lives and we will discuss these with Sadie's mum and dad when the time is right for them. We will of course keep you all informed of this, especially our year 6 families that leave us this year.
As always, Whitefield life goes on and I was uplifted to see you all at sports day on Tuesday, the hottest day of the year! It was a great turn out considering it was our third attempt and if you were unable to get there, we have a number of photos being uploaded on the website and Facebook as we speak.
Thank you and well done to Mrs Huxtable who organised an amazing art event on Monday. It was so unique and new to school and thank you for all your positive comments.
I hope you found your child’s report informative last week – it was our first time with the new format. Thank you to those of you who have commented on the format – all positive so far! If there is anything you think we missed, or could change for next year, please let us know. Your thoughts and ideas are valued.
We say goodbye to an amazing group of Year 6 children. We are all so proud of you and all your achievements during your Whitefield years and will miss you. Don’t forget to come back and see us with all the high school gossip!
We will also be saying goodbye on Friday to Miss McNaughton, Mrs Fielding and Mrs Thompson. We will miss you all and look forward to hearing of all your exploits!
We welcome Mr Keogh who is joining us in Year 3 and also Mr Ginty who will be working in Year 5 and 6 with Mrs Willers, Miss Nuttall and Mr Huntington.
I hope you all have a lovely summer. I have been told there is a heatwave due...I am hoping it lands in France, Luxembourg or Belgium so we can enjoy it in our caravan.
Whatever your exploits this summer, enjoy every minute and we look forward to seeing you all, and all our new families, in September (Monday 5th!)
