Mrs Foster’s News
Welcome to a very snotty, sore throaty newsletter from me this week! I know many of the children are struggling with bugs and I was hit by a big one last week and am still suffering this week.
As my mum says, lots of fresh air, water and toast and marmite.
A few dates to remind you of and let you know a couple of new ones:
It’s the Paint Penwortham Pink week next week and we are Painting Whitefield Pink on Friday 21st October. The children can come dressed in something pink (or purply or reddish!) – it doesn’t have to be the whole outfit – it can be socks, a t-shirt, hairslides or a feather boa….If everyone brings £1 we can raise over £365 for the breast cancer charity.
There are lots of events going on next week too and I will post on Facebook when I get the details. Alternatively you can view their Facebook page Paint Penwortham Pink.
Year 6 parents – don’t forget the Y6 assembly on Thursday 20th October, 2.30pm in the school hall. Family and friends all welcome.
On Thursday 20th October, Steven Mitchell the Youth Minister from Hutton Grammar will be in to lead our Harvest assembly. Can you please start sending in Harvest donations as soon as possible so we can build up a display bigger and better than last year! All our donations will be sent to Penwortham Food Bank so tins, packets and toiletries would be great.
And our first parents evening of the year will be on Tuesday 25th October and Wednesday 26th October. A letter will be winging it’s way to you soon to book your time.
And our first Friends of Whitefield event of the school year is on Monday 24th October – our Hallowe’en disco! More details to follow. Reception parents – the children will love it (and you will too!).
Our website has been updated and upgraded and now includes the Facebook posts which is great as I always forget to add the Facebook posts to the website!
Please check the website for up and coming events.
We’ve been showing so many people around school in the last few weeks and families look for places for their children in September 2017. Applications need to be in by January so if you know anyone in this position remind them to fill in their form and if they want a tour around school, please ask them to get in touch.
