Phew, we’ve started 2017 after the longest autumn term for many years (15 weeks!) and the shortest Christmas holiday for many years too!  And before we know it, it will be Easter!

The children are all focused in school and despite the protestations some of you must be getting at home every morning (like I am – ‘why do we have to go to school every day Mum?’), they are working really hard in school.

Congratulations to Mr Keogh and his team of athletes who came 6th in the South Ribble Athletics finals today. 6th best out of all the schools in South Ribble is just amazing! We are all very proud of you and you represented Whitefield brilliantly with your sporting abilities and positive attitudes.

Y5 had a great visit to Jodrell Bank last week – excellent behaviour and attitudes reported too Y5. Well done!  Pictures are on Facebook – whitefieldprimaryofficial.

A couple of requests and observations:

There are surprisingly some children coming to school without a coat. Please ensure they have one in school every day as we do go out to play in most weathers. If your child has lost theirs, it could be one of the numerous coats in the lost property pile on the infant corridor (along with jumpers, cardis, socks…)

We have contacted Penwortham Town Council at the end of last week about the amount of dog poo on the pathways around school.  It was really bad last week and not want we all want to be seeing coming in to school. Another reason for some CCTV I feel….

Don’t forget, it’s the year group assembly for Y4 families on Thursday 26th January, 2.30pm in the hall.  We’ll look forward to seeing you there.

Year group newsletters coming soon!
