My name is Roya and I am a fundraiser at the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Charity which supports both Chorley and Preston Hospitals.  We exist to help fund the items at our hospitals which are over and above what the NHS can provide. We support the health and wellbeing of our communities through investing in clinical excellence, world class research and outstanding care for all. The NHS cannot fund absolutely everything and that’s where we come in; Whether it’s to fund a comfortable chair for family members to use, to providing extra equipment which really will help to change the lives of patients to helping to fund our brand new Critical Care Unit with the furnishings & resources needed to make it that bit more comfortable for patients and their families, during such difficult times.

We rely on public donations to do all of this and to help make a difference in this way.

As you will know, many charities are having to re-organise their events in to keep in line with the current social distancing guidelines due to the Coronavirus pandemic. This is why we have decided to launch our first ever Virtual Rainbow Run! It’s very exciting and we hope people will sign up to take part to help us continue to support the trust in the way that we do.

The reason I’m emailing you is because we really need some help to spread the word. People can walk, run, roll, sprint, saunter, ride, scoot, skate their own personal distance on any date between the Monday 5th and Sunday 25th October. There are lots of ideas to go with the event on our website so please do take a look:  https://lthcharity.org.uk/get-involved-nhs/fundraising-events/virtual-rainbow-run-2020/   Registration is free and t-shirts are available.

We’d be so grateful for any support you are able to give to our event so please do get in touch if you would like any more information and thank you so much for taking the time to read this email.
