Welcome back everyone!  I hope you all had a fabulous two weeks and managed to find the sunshine.  It was definately shining in Penrith, unlike Tuesday night when we were unable to leave school because of the torrential rain and thunderstorm!  I ruined a rather lovely pair of ballet pumps wading to my car.  I hope all your homes are ok and you weren't one of the many in our area who suffered flooding.

It is such a busy half term as we move towards our summer break.  Do your sunshine dances for next week so that we can hold our sports day (Tuesday 17th, 2pm for R and KS1 and Wednesday 18th, 2pm for Years 3-6).  A sunny day would also be good for this Saturday so we can all be dry whilst watching or taking part in the Penwortham Gala.

Year 6 are currently experiencing a mixed weather week at Whitehough this week!  Miss Nuttall and her group were in the middle of a hail storm on a hill on Tuesday but everyone is still laughing and having a great time.  I went up last night for tea, It's a Knockout and the camp fire.  Mr Walker and Mr Phillips made fire!! It was very impressive.  There are some very happy and tired faces but everyone has had a fantastic time.  Updates have been posted on the website as we have received them from Mr Phillips at Whitehough.

Don't forget to pick up your tickets for the annual Celebration of Friendship being held at the Guild Hall on Tuesday next week (17th June).  Our choir and dance group are performing a piece with a distinct country and western feel!

Good luck to our netball team who are playing in the South Ribble finals on Wednesday 18th at Leyland Netball Centre - we will let you know how we got on next week.

Please make sure you check out the dates for the rest of the term on the website!
