Apologies for the delay in the news this week – it’s been a busy one!  We continue to have problems uploading our news to our website but are working hard to restore that (something techie to do with IP addresses?) but we can still communicate with you via email and text.

It has been a fantastic start to our Christmas festivities this week.  Santa came to see us on Monday bearing gifts for all the classes. And we have been on a Magical Christmas Journey with Years 1 and 2, followed the ABC nativity with Reception, experienced a Tudor Christmas at Heskin Hall with Year 3 and had a beautiful Carol Service with amazing singing at URC with Year 6.  It has been lovely to see you all throughout the week. Thank you for supporting us!

We have also managed to fit in a Christmas lunch (well done to Paula and the kitchen team for a brilliant meal yesterday) and we had a Christmas movie treat too.

We look forward to next week – our Year 4nad 5 children are at St Mary’s Church for their Carol Service and I think we will be learning about a Victorian Christmas, and we have our Christmas parties too (you should have received information about this in your child’s bag today).

I have been really pleased to hear your positive responses to our school branching out in to the music business. However, I must apologise to those of you being tormented repeatedly by the staff song.  I received a text from someone who said all they could hear was my voice coming from their child’s bedroom; I am so sorry. But I must give HUGE thanks to Mrs Hewitson, who played our tunes on her radio show (The Late Late Breakfast Show on Thursdays with Hughie Parr, live from 10.10am. The frequency for Preston fm is 103.2fm and online at http://tunein.com/radio/Preston-FM-1032-s102786/ ). We are hoping to get a podcast of yesterday’s show and we will email it out (if we can!) and will put it on line (as soon as technology allows us).  I know Mr Huntington will be watching the X Factor final on Saturday night, wondering what his career could have been….

In other news, it looks like St Thomas’s in St Anne’s are keeping Ms Clough for longer – definitely until Easter. Great headteacher experience for her, and the assistant headteachers in school, Ms King, Mrs Willers and Mrs Adams get to continue in their roles for a longer period.

We have also found a new Mrs Martin! We were delighted to appoint Mrs Julie Garry who will be joining us from January. You will see her in the office and out and about in school. She has amazing curly hair so you can't miss her!

That’s all for now folks.  Have a good weekend.
